Westerdam Cruises
What a beautiful ship? The Westerdam cruises is 4 years old but nearly spotless. Their decor is beautiful, the crystal ship model rotating in the chandelier of the Atrium, right across from the Pinnacle Grill. Our room was a typical balcony stateroom but it was very well appointed compared to some of the other ships we have sailed on. There was plenty of storage space for all the clothes and gear we brought.
Westerdam cruise lines has initiated a program of up-scaling their cruise ships, cruise line image and passenger cruise experience. This initiative is called the Signature of Excellence program and will soon be experienced by cruise passengers on all Westerdam cruises.
But the true beauty of this ship is its crew. Staff are attentive and polite, more so than on any other ship you have been on. The almost one staff member per two passengers ratio on board ship is the highest of the major cruise lines and it shows. If you require assistance, then assistance will be there.
Westerdam cruises passengers all got to enjoy the entry rather than sleeping through it like we often do when on a cruise ship. We passed through a narrow channel between St John, USVI and several small, lush green islands, Great Thatch and Little Thatch to name a couple…how beautiful! We were boarded by a local ship Captain, all while in motion.
Westerdam cruises will include the Neptune Lounge, Pinnacle Grill, Explorations Café, the Greenhouse Spa & Salon, and a Culinary Arts Center. Changes will be made for children and teens cruising with Westerdam cruises as well.
