Statendam Cruise Ship
The Statendam cruise ship is the fifth ship to bear the name in Holland America Line’s more than 130-year history. At 720-feet, she is designed to carry fewer guests while providing more space for maximum comfort. Many staterooms feature commanding ocean views and have a private verandah.
The Statendam cruise ship features a theme of Dutch life and exploration, with more than $2 million worth of art and artifacts beautifully displayed throughout the ship. The Van Gogh Theater is a work of art in itself, commemorating Dutch artist Vincent Van Gogh’s paintings “The Starry Night” and “Irises”. In the center of the ship, a three-story atrium showcases an elaborate 26-foot-high “Fountain of the Siren” sculpture. Traveling aboard the Statendam cruise ship is world-class cruising at its finest.
This Statendam cruise ship was an awesome ship. There were many places to stand and hide from people. I loved how you could stand in the front of the ship as you left port. The ship had nice flowers all over the place. The ship was a nice size — not too big and not too small. I don’t like the new big ships that the other cruise lines have now.
The Statendam cruise ship had free espresso, cafe latte and cappuccino many times during the day at the Java Cafe with awesome cookies. They also had many movies to watch in the movie theater - HAL offers free popcorn and cookies. The food was good. The Buffet was good, but needs just a few more items to pick from. This ship was intimate reservations-only venue offers an elegant, sophisticated dining experience. Featuring premium Sterling Silver beef, inspired seafood dishes and many select wines rated “Excellent” by Wine Spectator - as well as distinctive Bvlgari® china, Riedel® stemware and Frette® linens.
